How Kaletra Works

The two drugs that make up KALETRA, lopinavir and ritonavir, work together to reduce the amount of HIV in the blood.

Lopinavir blocks a step of the HIV reproduction process, preventing HIV from being produced. Ritonavir is often referred to as protease inhibitor booster and is used to increase or “boost" the blood levels of KALETRA, blocking HIV from making more copies of itself.

Take a look at this video to see how HIV attacks the immune cells in your body and how KALETRA works to block it.
